Greensboro man arrested in the murder of Shelby Brown.

Defendant James Moore III has requested a bond hearing that will be held today at 2pm.
This morning at 9 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2018, the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest in the murder of Shelby Brown. Shelby Brianne Brown, 22 of Jacksonville was identified through an autopsy that was conducted the Greenville, North Carolina Medical examiner’s Office on January 8th, 2018. A group of teenagers discovered Miss Brown’s partially decomposed Body located off of Thomas Humphrey Road in Jacksonville on New Year’s Eve, where deputies got the call around 3:20 p.m. that Sunday.
The man arrested in an open count of Murder in the death of Shelby Brown is 41 years old James Moore of Greensboro, North Carolina. In a live press conference today with Onslow County Sheriff Hans Miller and the investigative team of Onslow County Sheriff’s Office it was stated that Miss Brown’s death was a result of multiple stab wounds and no indications of drug use involved.
Originally the sheriff’s office said Brown was reported missing on January 3rd by her mother. She was last seen in Sneads Ferry, NC and was possibly in the area of Jacksonville on December 4th from investigative reports.
