Learning option via IXL for young students out of school due to closures.
With an additional week of school closures, I know a lot of parents are looking for learning options at home that are free or low cost, accurate and possess ability for independent learning. We’ve used IXL in the past with our children and always pleased with the learning provided by the site.
So, I reached out to IXL and explained that we are in the disaster area and the majority of the county schools have been damaged where children are missing learning time in the public school system and asked for any help they’re willing to offer utilizing the site as an option and at no or low cost for our students. Response begins below:
“Hi, IXL has a number of offerings that may be helpful. Students can practice 10 IXL questions in each subject per day at no cost, which is a great way to keep their skills sharp. Teachers can also sign up for a free 30-day IXL trial (https://www.ixl.com/membership/teachers/trial), or parents can use a 20% discount to begin a membership at home to support their child (https://www.ixl.com/membership/family/promo20). If you have further questions, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org!”
Membership is generally $19.95 and $4 per each additional child.
Currently IXL has a free 7 day trial access as well! Give it a shot, the students in your life will thank you!
