UPDATE: Family members reported that Tristen has been found safe after a search that went on several hours tonight in Cleveland County.

Cleveland County deputies are searching for a missing 8-year-old boy, Tristen Woodrum. He is believed to be a runaway near Shelby, NC.
What we know about Tristen Woodrum:
– 2nd grader at Township 3 school
– reported missing at 7:17P.M. Friday evening
– a little over 2 dozen firefighters on the search tonight
– Described as 4-foot-8 inches tall, weighing 60 pounds, dirty blond hair, blue colored eyes and freckles.
– possibly in a lightning McQueen shirt
-last seen near Patterson Springs area

Tristen Wayne Woodrum was last seen at 60001 Maple Valley Dr. in Shelby. He was reported missing around 7:15 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8. Authorities say he had been gone for about 40 minutes at that time.
Deputies and a K9 began to search the immediate area, but say it did not prove fruitful as family had already been searching the area and the dog could not distiguish between the scents.
Tristen aka “Bugs” Woodrum got in trouble at school and was facing disciplinary action before he disappeared, authorities said.
There are Emergency Management Services in the air by drone, thermal imaging is being utilized as well.
