UPDATE: Last of the FIVE Inmates escaped from Nash Co. apprehended in S.C. in Sunday.
In a Nash County Sheriff’s Office press release Sunday, 3/31/19 at 4:15A.M, The last one of Nash County Detention Center escapees was apprehended in South Carolina.
“Nash County Sheriff’s Office is reporting Laquaris Rashad Battle, the last of the five inmate escapees from the Nash County Detention Center breakout, has been located and taken into custody few moments ago.
Laquaris Rashaad Battle was located in Hardeeville, South Carolina during a traffic stop and is currently jailed at the Jasper County Jail.
Mia Andrea Dasha Evans was the driver of the vehicle where Laquaris Rashad Battle was located in. Jaishawn Freeman, a passenger in the same vehicle, was charged with Possession of Cocaine.

Around 11:30pm last night, Nash County Sheriff’s Office reported that two of the five inmates were captured. The first two captured were David Viverrette and Raheem D. Horne in Rocky Mount, NC.
Following these two inmates being captured another two were located and captured in another county. Keonte Daeman Murphy and David Anthony Ruffin were apprehended and being transported to the Nash County Detention Center.
NCSO reported one of the five inmate escapees is still wanted concerning yesterday’s Nash County Detention Center breakout.

(NASH CO., NC-) Nash County Sheriff’s Office reported a jail breakout of five inmates which was reported between 5:00-6:00pm this evening after cutting through a fence. Local and state authorities are currently working leads.
Inmates involved in this escape are said to be: Raheem Horne, Laquaris Battle, David Viverrette, David Ruffin, And Keonte Murphy.
Suspects Information: (Description with photos below description of each escapee)
David Marshal Viverrette, W/M, 28-year- old, 6’3″, 170lbs-Viverrette was arrested in Nov. 2018 and charged with bank robbery, possession of a stolen vehicle and stealing from a jewelry store. Viverrette was released from prison in Nov. 2017 and taken off of parole as of Aug. 2018 for exploiting an elderly/disabled adult.
David Ruffin Jr., W/M, 30-year-old, 5’9″, 150lbs- Ruffin is a registered sex offender who was convicted in 2009 of indecent liberties with minor Christmas Eve of 2008, additional prior offenses for breaking & entering and possession of stolen goods. 2018 arrest for an October 9th theft at EZ Bait and Tackle, in Goldsboro.
Keonte Daemon Murphy, B/M, 23-year-old 5’4″, 170lbs- Murphy is a registered sex offender, convicted in November of 2014 for indecent liberties with a minor under age 12.

Raheem D-Carlos Horne, B/M, 25-year-old, 5’5″, 180lbs- Horne’s latest conviction shown in the NC DOC database: RECEIVING STOLEN VEHICLE.
Laquaris Rashad Battle, B/M, 22-year-old, 6’6″, 155lbs: arrested in 2013 for Kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, residential B&E where Battle broke into a home and held two female victims at gunpoint in Nashville, NC.
