“If a man rob God” Onslow Co. man arrested on felony B&E charges of a church


A man has been arrested for breaking into a church and stealing a sound system.

On June 12, 2018, Onslow County Sheriff’s Office uniformed patrol deputies responded to the Happy Valley Church in Beulaville for a report that the church had been broken into. During the course of the investigation, a person of interest was developed after witnesses reported seeing his car in the area of the church. The investigation led to the arrest of Jermaine Lewis Taylor on January 8, 2019.

Taylor, 34-years-old of Haw Branch Road in Beulaville was arrested and charged with:

  • Felony Breaking/Entering a Place of Worship
  • Felony Larceny
  • Felony Obtain Property by False Pretense
  • (2) Counts Felony Possession of Stolen Property
  • Misdemeanor Larceny

Magistrates set Taylor’s appearance bond at $25,900 secured. Taylor is currently incarcerated in the Onslow County Detention Center awaiting trial.
